“The Launiu” will be the 11th residential tower developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation (Ward Village), which is leading the urban development of the Kaka‘ako district. The name “Launiu” means “coconut leaf” in Hawaiian. According to the development application, the project will include 486 residential units, along with retail shops and outdoor gathering spaces along Ward Avenue. Of the 486 units, 396 will be tower residences, and 90 will be located beneath the amenities deck. Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2024. The building’s design will be handled by Arquitectonica, an architecture firm headquartered in Miami, Florida, while the interior design will be overseen by ODADA, a design firm based in California. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available. |
